Sports Executive

National Talent Development Coach

PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE 

Report to the Sport Director and responsible in supporting the Executive Director. Within the guidelines and constraints determined by Singapore Aquatics (SAQ), the Talent Development Coach is responsible for the overall development of the athletes in the SAQ Skills and TID pathway.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Effective Relationship and communication with SAQ’s Partners and Stakeholders 
Work closely with the SAQ’s partners and stakeholders including SportSG, affiliates, other national federations and sponsors to ensure alignment.

2. Logistical Organisation 
Work with the secretariat staff to develop and implement plans to meet the expected needs of the athletes, coaches and support staff during training. Attend events, local and overseas as required. Support the preparation of the team before and during team trips, this includes booking of flights, accommodation, entries for meets, provision of meals and transportation. Ensuring team Singapore meets the technical guidelines provided by organisers.  

3. Technical Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the development of the TID and Skills pathway to ensure wholistic development of Singapore’s future diving talent.  
  • Support the development of ideal competition pathway to ensure best technical and competition experience for athletes
  • Work with the coaching team to develop annual plans for the divers within the Skills and TID programmes. 
  • Support the development of Multi Year Sports Plan, that includes a regenerative pipeline for a national diving program that brings Singapore to a world class level. 
  • To support the training of local coaches with the ability to prepare athletes for the SAQ programmes. 
  • Develop and implement coach education/development programmes for coaching community. 
  • Visit local diving clubs to study how they operate at a coaching level and develop coaching strategies and athlete development pathways that will help the clubs increase their pipelines and improve from the developmental to the high-performance level. 

 4. Reports
Monitoring and managing database of athlete performance, providing progressive updates on individual diver’s performance and training plans to Sport Director and parents as required. Follow up all incidents and report to VP (Diving) and Sport Director on final outcomes. Provide coach reports for overseas trips. 

JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENTS

Experience 

  • Possess relevant diving coaching certifications. Must be qualified in all aspects of dryland and water overhead spotting harness and hand assisted spotting.
  • Experienced in coaching divers successfully to junior international level.
  • Have minimum 5 years of coaching experience.

  • Shows enthusiasm and preparedness to put athlete performance before personal considerations.
  • Available to attend all pre-competition meetings, training camps and meets if required.
  • Ability to work on weekends.
  • Ability to travel overseas.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Assistant Finance Manager

A. PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE
Report to the Senior Finance Manager with regard to the full spectrum of
accounting functions.

B. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• To lead the monthly accounts closing;
• Preparation of month end financial closing, general ledger reconciliation;
• Maintain full set of account;
• Handle day to day accounting function;
• Monitoring of AR/AP Aging;
• Maintain fixed assets register;
• Managing of cashflow of fixed deposits;
• Reviewing of Bank Reconciliation and banking deposits;
• Perform journal entries and adjustment;
• Posting of transactions in the accounting system;
• Preparation of Balance Sheet and Income & Expenditure;
• Provide financial analysis of revenue, cost and events;
• Lead the year-end statutory audit;
• Lead any internal or compliance audits;
• Quarterly GST submission.
• Ensure accounting is carried out in proper way in accordance to financial compliance;
• Ensure expense claims are in accordance with SSA’s HR policies;
• Preparation of Leave tracker
• Assist in any ad hoc accounting and administrative assignments.
• Any other duties assigned by management or supervisor

C. JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENTS
• Degree in Accountancy or relevant qualifications.
• At least 5 years of accounting experience in full set of accounting.
• Prior experience in Sports industry or another charity is advantageous.
• Prior experience with Oracle Netsuite is advantageous.
• Proficient in using Microsoft office especially in Excel
• Strong IT skills is advantageous
