SwimFaster

SwimFaster is a set of awards aiming to introduce swimmers to the competitive environment, providing them with an opportunity to test themselves against benchmark timings. This framework is designed to raise the technical proficiency of both swimmers and their coaches.

Assessment model

  • Assessment model follows previous SSPA, with additional tiered awards instead of a pass/fail assessment
  • Assessment to be completed at designated SwimFaster events organized by SAQ
  • Disputes regarding assessment outcomes will be mitigated through normal competition regulations for appeals.
  • Participants receive a badge/certificate upon achieving a timing in each ‘event’ of SwimFaster, and a badge of completion upon achieving the gold timing for each stroke for a distance
    • eg. A swimmer can receive a bronze badge for the 100m freestyle, but only receives a badge of completion upon achieving the gold timing for each stroke at 100m
