Inspired by the journey and values of Singapore’s first Olympic gold medallist, the Joseph Schooling Award seeks to recognise and support the next generation of Singapore’s young swimmers as they pursue their own dreams.
ABOUT THE AWARD
Inspiring the next generation
On 12 August 2016, Joseph Schooling made history for Singapore.
Ten years later, his legacy continues beyond the medal.
Established by Singapore Aquatics, the Joseph Schooling Award recognises promising young swimmers who demonstrate the ambition, character and values that defined Joseph’s journey to the highest level of sport.
The Award is about more than performance. It recognises athletes who dare to dream, understand their purpose, persevere through challenges, remain grateful to those around them, and take pride in representing something bigger than themselves.
Recipients will each receive S$10,000 in support over two years (S$5,000 per year) to support their continued sporting and personal development.

Here’s what applicants can expect:

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted directly by Singapore Aquatics with further details on the next stage of the selection process.
Each year, two athletes will be selected to receive the Joseph Schooling Award.
Each recipient will receive:
S$10,000 over two years
S$5,000 per year
The Award is intended to support the athlete’s continued development and pursuit of their sporting ambitions.
But receiving the Joseph Schooling Award means more than financial support.
It represents a commitment to carrying forward the values behind one of the defining moments in Singapore sporting history.
